Great Blue Heron

 For the past few days I gone to watch the Great Blue Heron at the Middleboro Herring Run. I will sit on the bench or the rocks and wait patiently to get some photos. At times I have seen about 20 birds. Some are carrying sticks in their bills so there must be a nesting colony of these birds further up stream that I can't get to. The birds look prehistoric. Love them!!

  The river herring are still running, but not in the numbers that there were in early March when they first started to run.
