I received an email yesterday from the Crop Shop in Rockland, MA. Dee, the owner is closing her retail store as we now know it. After December 16th, Dee will only hold classes and crops at the stores location. I loved this store as there was such a wonderful variety of product and papers. 2011 wasn't a good year for small businesses due to the economy and the large craft stores. When the Crop Shop closes in December this will be the 3rd. scrapbook/stamp store that closed it's doors in my area.
So sad to see these small businesses close, because they carried such a wide array of product that you can't find in Michael's and A C Moore.

Yes, it is so sad! We've lost all of our locally owned stores here in SC too. We all miss them so much!
Have a great time in Maine and hopefully you won't get to deeply snowed in!
A shame, Elaine, but nothing we can do to help except patronize the small private shops. Don't forget there will probably be a sale before closing, that will help the shop owner now too.
