Autumn

AAWA Oct. 11 make n take leaves card
I have mentioned before that I belong to an online group - An Affair with Art (AAWA)  Starting with this month the group is doing something new. Each month a different member will create a make n take. We can chose to make our card/project exactly as the person who created it or adapt our own version. I changed my card up  a bit as I used what I had on hand.
I started with a cream colored piece of cardstock that I folded in half to make a 5 x 7 inch card. Then I cut down a piece of autumn leaves scrapbook paper attached a sheer rust colored 2" ribbon over the paper and glued it to the base cardstock. I then cut down burnt orange cardstock and orange polka dotted cardstock and layered them over the sheer ribbon.
I created the leaves for this project yesterday. I had a large DeNami maple leaf stamp that I have had sitting on my stamp shelf for years,  but had never used. I stamped out the leaf image onto white cardstock and then used several different colors of  Twinkling H2 O's paint. The leaves glisten beautifully, but unfortunately you can't see that in the photo. I ran the leaves thru my Xyron and attached them over the ribbon. I then stamped the Nature saying onto cardstock, inked around the edges, and glued that on a piece of burnt orange card stock to finish my card.
I also had to make a post card and since I had extra painted leaves I thought I would basically create the post card the same as the card to send to Irene. I mailed this post card out in a clear envelope to protect the leaves that had been attached with the xyron.

Yesterday at my parents house I took a picture of this big and colorful fungus that I found at the base of a cherry tree. I thought it was kind of pretty.

On the way to the grocery store the other morning, in front of an apartment complex that is surrounded by tall pine trees, I noticed several mushroom fairy rings. Perfect large circles of mushrooms. I didn't have my camera with me at the time or I would have stopped and taken a photo. Yesterday with my camera in the car I was all set to stop and snap a picture, but that didn't happen. Kids had knocked the tops off of all the mushrooms. Drats!!!
Late yesterday afternoon I took my 87 year old aunt to her cranberry bog so she could watch the guys water pick her crop.

That card is very nice. Thanks for sharing so many pictures of the cranberry bog. Other than that funny commercial on tv I've never seen how they're harvested.

Your card is lovely. I think the fungus picture looks like angel wings. It's cool to see pictures of the cranberry harvesting.
